ai-geletterd.nl uses cookies and similar techniques sparingly. We place no advertising tracking cookies and share no data with ad networks. This statement explains what we do use, and when.

1. Functional and strictly necessary storage

To make the service work we use strictly necessary storage, for which no consent is required (Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act):

  • Session/authentication — to keep you signed in.
  • Language preference — the NEXT_LOCALE preference remembers your choice between Dutch and English.
  • Security — short-lived technical values for, among other things, rate limiting.

2. Marketing analytics — cookieless

On the public marketing pages we use Plausible, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service running within the EU. Plausible sets no cookies, uses no personal data and does no cross-site tracking. No consent is therefore required.

3. Product analytics — only after consent

In the signed-in application we may use PostHog (EU) to improve the user experience. This happens only after you have given consent via the cookie banner. Until then, no analytics are loaded. Key characteristics:

  • session replay is permanently off;
  • storage is in-memory — no tracking cookie is placed;
  • every choice (consent or refusal) is recorded in an append-only register, with a hash of the banner version used, so we can demonstrate what you agreed to (Article 7(1) GDPR).

4. Withdrawing consent

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via Privacy in your account. On withdrawal, analytics stop immediately and we record a withdrawal entry.

5. Overview

  • Necessary (no consent): session, language preference, security.
  • Marketing analytics (no consent, cookieless): Plausible (EU).
  • Product analytics (consent required): PostHog (EU), without a tracking cookie.

This cookie statement is a draft and will undergo legal review before going live.
